Wings & Wheels at the Sanford Seacoast Regional Airport was a smashing success. The 250th USA anniversary show featured local drag racing history, RC stunt planes, helicopter rides, aviation history, hundreds of classic cars, and so much more! Some attractions included the 1938 Chevy Gasser "Gold Digger" which raced at Sanford Dragway in its heyday.
The event had many great aircraft, including a 1949 North American T-28 Trojan military trainer aircraft. Built with a Wright R-1820 Cyclone, it's the final major radial-engine trainer for the U.S. Air Force and Navy. It served Strength/Charge with the United States Air Force with s/n 49-1654 until 1957.
BIG THANKS to all the volunteers and first responders! THANK YOU to Wings and Wheels Sanford Maine, Sanford Seacoast Regional Airport, Flight4CF, Bill Snowdon, all the awesome food trucks, and participants from all over New England.
